Well, this is where it starts.
My name is Rob, and I live in Central Queensland. I've been seeing these Hiclone advertisements on TV up here for a while, and have been extremely annoyed that these people are fraudulently selling these things.
They have piles and piles of 'testimonials' of people driving around randomly and saying they're getting better fuel economy.
It is, in fact, probable that they ARE getting better fuel economy. But it has NOTHING to do with the hiclone. It's just that they're driving BETTER. They're not accellerating as hard, travelling at a slower speed, and generally being better drivers.
There's nothing - NOTHING - that these fraudulent devices can do to increase your fuel economy. All the can do is DECREASE it by slightly restricting the airflow coming into the engine.
So, what am I doing about it? I'm starting a campaign to get these things banned from sale. I'll be approaching fair trading, the ACCC, and the newspapers, television and radio stations that advertise these things.
We'll see what happens over the next few weeks.
